“Uncork Summer” on June 24!
You are cordially invited to attend the Fourth Annual Uncork Summer, the Door County food, wine and music festival.
Who says summer in Door County begins on the 4th of July? We’re uncorking the summer early this year and we’re doing it in style, Saturday, June 24th, from 10 am to 4 pm. Uncork Summer is the signature epicurean event of the year, bringing together Door County’s foremost aficionados on food and wine for an unparalleled day of quaffing, mingling, and most importantly, tasting.
Located on the historic grounds of Wickman House in Ellison Bay, in northern Door County, Uncork Summer’s bucolic setting harmonizes with the local food, world class wine and mood-setting live music. The admission fee is a minimal $5 per person and tickets for food, wine and beer are available for purchase on-site. Every dish — and every drink — is just $5.
Two dozen of Door County’s most exciting restaurants and locally-produced food purveyors offer small plates so you can taste your way around the peninsula. Come thirsty to Uncork Summer and redeem your tickets for an array of distinctive wines and craft beers.
Kyle Cherek, the Wisconsin Foodie host on public television, will be the Uncork Summer keynote speaker this year, and will give a talk about farm-to-table foods, agricultural sustainability, and the importance of locally-grown foods to Wisconsin tourism growth. Kyle spoke at last year's Uncork Summer and wowed the huge audience!
Uncork Summer shares the same weekend as the 51st Annual Olde Ellison Bay Days, on the same weekend. While both events take place in the village of Ellison Bay, they will be at different locations. Uncork Summer’s food, wine and music experience serves as a complement to Olde Ellison Bay Days’ family-friendly focus at the Ellison Bay Park, on the Green Bay shoreline.
Acclaimed participating restaurants and food vendors include Door County Creamery, Jackson Harbor Soup, Fireside Restaurant, Culinaria, Parador, Wickman House, Al Johnson’s, The Savory Spoon, Alexander’s, Galileo's Italian Restaurant, Shoreline Restaurant, Wickman House, Sub Express, and many more.
Wickman House will serve its acclaimed craft cocktails in the Bar Tent, and Island Orchard Cider's hand-crafted ciders will be served in the Door County North booth.
Local musicians Katie Lott (vocals) and George Sawyn (guitar) will perform their unique brand of jazz on the Uncork stage from 10 am – 1 pm, while jazz songstress Erin Krebs, backed by her accomplished four-piece band, will perform from 1 – 4 pm.
Uncork Summer invites you to uncork your summer in style with a trend-setting food roster, incomparable libations and sunny live music. Celebrate the beginning of a long-awaited summer where cooking, drink, and ambiance conspire to provide a memorable experience.
Event sponsors include Door County North, Door County Advocate, Door Guide Publishing, Wisconsin Foodie and Wisconsin Public Radio.
